Position Description:

The position of Commercial Legal Counsel at ABC Corporation is new to me. The successful functioning of our company depends on a qualified individual who understands legal procedures, regulations, and laws as they relate to ABC Corporation’s business operations.

The primary responsibility of the Commercial Legal Counsel will be to provide legal advice and guidance on all aspects of commercial law. This includes but is not limited to contract drafting and review, dispute resolution, compliance matters, corporate governance, compliance with applicable laws, regulations and industry standards, intellectual property protection, and ensuring business transactions are conducted in accordance with regulatory obligations. A strong background in contract law, corporate transactions and other areas of commercial law is what the ideal candidate should have.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, an ability to think critically and analytically, and pay close attention to detail are required of the Commercial Legal Counsel. They need to have sound judgement and decision-making abilities, as well as the ability to work in a team setting. Knowledge of international law is important.

As a member of the Legal Department, the Commercial Legal Counsel will report directly to the Chief Legal Officer and will be responsible for providing legal advice to members of senior management, partners, shareholders, customers and other relevant stakeholders. The CFO and other members of the finance team will be closely monitored by the Commercial Legal Counsel. They will be expected to assist in the development of policies and procedures as well as stay up to date with legal developments.
